Our Sightseeing brochure provides a description, address and admission rate for all of our top attractions in one easy-to-print guide

Imaginative redevelopment transformed this old naval installation into charming shops and restaurants. Stop by to climb the ramparts, eat savoury fish ‘n’ chips, and visit a snorkel park.

Built by slave and convict labour, the Dockyard at the far west end of our island became a strategic outpost for the Royal Navy more than 200 years ago. In fact, British war ships set sail from this dock to attack Washington, DC during the War of 1812.

Now only a quick ferry ride from Hamilton, visitors love to dive into our historical artefacts and island culture.

  • Many of the historic old naval buildings have been converted into restaurants with character, shops with Victorian elegance, and arts and crafts workshops
  • Spend the day exploring former military structures, underground chambers and interactive exhibits at the Children’s Museum
  • Watch live glassblowing demonstrations and sample our famous rum cakes
  • Enjoy one-on-one time with dolphins at the island’s largest fort, the Bermuda Maritime Museum
  • On Wednesdays during the summer, do not miss the Gumba tours with their “mostly true” stories of the island

Bermuda Maritime Museum

The Bermuda Maritime Museum is set within the Keep, a sprawling six-acre fortress at the edge of the Royal Naval Dockyard.

  • Admission includes eight historic buildings such as old munitions warehouses
  • You may tour the newly restored Commissioner's House, the first prefabricated cast and wrought iron house in the world
  • Exhibitions include the Bermuda Slavery Exhibit, one devoted to the ancestry of the island’s Portuguese community and other displays that highlight Bermuda’s maritime history
  • Our popular and immersive Dolphin Quest programme is also set within the Keep

Whether taking in some local history, stunning views from the ramparts, or exploring Bermuda's largest fort, there is plenty to see and learn at this important cultural attraction.
