Before embarking on your subtropical island getaway, make sure to pack the requisite documents.
Passports are the preferred document for entry into Bermuda. They are required of all visitors from countries that need a passport for re-entry purposes or for entry through another country.
Travellers from the US
Through September 30, 2007 visitors travelling to Bermuda by air must have the following:
Adults
- A US passport OR
- A government issued photo ID and an official copy of the birth certificate with either a raised seal or official stamp along with an official proof of passport application from the U.S. Department of State
Children under 16 travelling with an Adult
- A US passport OR
- An official proof of passport application from the U.S. Department of State
Children under 16 travelling alone
- A US passport OR
- A copy of their birth certificate, baptismal record or a hospital record of birth in the U.S. and their passport application status documentation
Our Canadian friends
Visitors travelling directly from Canada must present one of the following in addition to their round- trip ticket to our island:
- Valid Canadian passport
- Birth certificate or certified copy together with photo ID
- For people born outside of Canada, a Canadian Certificate of Citizenship or Canadian Permanent Resident Card
Our European travellers
Visitors from the UK and Western Europe must present the following in addition to their round-trip ticket to our island:
- Valid passport of their country
- Round-trip ticket to Bermuda
- All travellers must carry proof of citizenship and personal identification, such as government-issued photo ID, relevant to return to your country or for re-entry through another foreign country, as required by Bermuda Immigration authorities.
