St. George's ParishAt the island's eastern tip, visitors love the parish's historic sites, museums and quaint shops. The Town of St. George is the second oldest English colony in the New World after Jamestown, Virginia. Must see: Town of St. George and its related fortifications.
Did you know: The Town of St. George served as our capitol until 1815. Hamilton ParishNot to be confused with the City of Hamilton in Pembroke Parish, adventuresome visitors head underground to Hamilton Parish's extensive cave systems. Must see: Guided tour of the Crystal Caves; the Bermuda Aquarium & Zoo. Smith's ParishAbutting Harrington Sound, Smith's Parish is a favourite of hikers and scenery lovers. Many consider Spittle Pond Nature Preserve the island's richest and most diverse natural sanctuary. Must see: The Verdmont Museum, an 18th-century house showcasing our island's early history. Devonshire ParishSerenity seekers adore scenic and beautiful Devonshire Parish's lush, rolling countryside. The parish's marshes and nature reserves draw bird watchers from around the world. Must see: The attractive Palm Grove Gardens feature a unique reflecting pool containing a stone representation of Bermuda, cages of exotic parrots and tropical plants. |
